Sometimes called farmer Champagne, made by producers who grow their own grapes and make the wine themselves, rather than buying grapes from other vineyards. These producers control the entire process from vineyard to bottle, which allows their Champagne to reflect the specific land, climate, and winemaking choices of the grower. Unlike large Champagne houses that aim for a consistent style each year, grower Champagnes often vary by vintage and are produced in smaller quantities. They are known for being more individual, expressive, and closely connected to the place they come from, which is why many wine enthusiasts value them for their authenticity and sense of terroir.
